Blog Entry #2
In this class, you don't have much opportunity to utilize the print components of the library; therefore, you must rely on the digital databases available to you. Do you think digital is replacing print? Do you think this is a good thing or a bad thing?
I strongly believe that digital is replacing print, due to the technology we now have access to and what has yet to be developed. There are good and bad things about this but I'm neither for nor against it. Some people believe in saving the trees, so going digital will help tremendously with this problem. Then there are some people who just can’t understand how to work digitally on anything, so there for printing is the better deal for them. Personally I would be happy either way. I love learning how to do new things and technology is something you are learning new things about every time you use it. There is now a way to communicate through a network called Skype, that allows one to talk to family or friends on the opposite side of the world and also be able to see them as well. This is very helpful in military families like mine. My husband goes to Afghanistan in April and with this technology we will be able to still communicate with each other. So yes digital has some major advantages!!! Then also when you are trying to get a job, some employers want you to print off a resume for their keeping and for them to know you better. Printing is more personal than digital because it is hand written by you and then handed to the receiver, while with digital you can just type it up real fast and send it in an email. It just depends on what you are comfortable doing on what you do at this point in time but I do see digital completely taking over in the next few years… be ready!!!!

Emily Lamb Wright
My name is Emily Wright, but in the school system I am still
under Emily Lamb do to getting married on January 1st, 2013. I am in my fourth
semester here at Black River Tech, and have loved every moment of my college
classes. I am a proud military wife living every moment trying to improve
myself for my husband and our future children. I am attending college to become
an EMT/Paramedic, I know I have a long road ahead of me in this career but with
the support of my amazing new husband, I know I can do anything!! This semester
is the first time I have taken an online class so I may need a lot of help form
the rest of my class mates and teacher! I know once I get the hang of it I will
be so excited that I learned how!! My husband is stationed in North Carolina right
now and is going to Afghanistan in late April or early May, so I am going to
also need all of your help to get through this and to stay motivated in my
studies. I also work at Wal-Mart over nights so between there and school I
pretty much don’t have an outside life so hopefully that will keep my mind off
of his tour to Afghanistan coming up. Well I think that is about all I can
think of right now, but if you have any questions or advice please feel free to
say so in a comment or email me!!

In this forum, I want you to discuss one thing you have learned in this unit as well as at least one thing you have a question about (you must include both to receive all of the points available.)
As of unit 3, I have learned how to: correct sentence fragments, run-ons, Pronouns, and subject verb agreement. Out of all the English classes I have taken in the past, I have never quite understood all this until now. I love learning new things about the internet and being in an online class like this one, helps tremendously. Blogging was a little rocky in the beginning but now that it is the third one I think I have the hang of it. Now all I have left to learn about blogs is how to comment on other class mates blogs. My major question I have right now is how do you paraphrase something that is already dummyfied? And I don’t understand how to even begin because every rout leads to plagiarism!!! HELP PLEASE!!!! I think that it would be nice to have a YouTube video or something that could maybe shows us an example on how to paraphrase. This college course is way harder than English I. It would be pretty wicked awesome if some of us students could get together in a group and kind of help each other. Like maybe 2 or 3 times a week since most of the students are already up here at the school. Plus, it would be really cool if we could we could do like a group project for the final exam instead of the main test. But that will most likely not happen. Or another thing that would be nice is if we could just not have a final at all…haha… But that probably will not happen either!
